San Domenico Orchestra da Camera
The San Domenico Orchestra da Camera was the grand prize winner of the 2005 ASTA with NSOA National Orchestra Festival Competition.

Long known as one of the finest college preparatory high schools in the San Francisco Bay Area, San Domenico, through its unique Music Conservatory, also offers a premier pre-professional training opportunity for young women who are exploring their potential as string musicians.

San Domenico is home to a fully equipped and endowed Music Conservatory, whose facilities include performance halls, numerous practice rooms, teacher studios and an extensive music library. Four to five chamber ensembles--trios, quartets and quintets--are in residence at the Music Conservatory in any given year. This combination of talent and program has garnered a national recognition for the Virtuoso Program as one of the most comprehensive and unique opportunities in the nation for gifted young string musicians. Each year, the Virtuoso Program selectively recruits a limited number of young women who demonstrate exceptional music talent to attend San Domenico on merit scholarship. While these young women are generally committed musicians, they may not have considered the possibility of pursuing the intensive study of music as a part of their high school education. Whether desiring opportunities to advance their musical talents or aspiring to professional careers in music, Virtuoso students find a synergy of academic excellence, professional training, and opportunities to audition and perform that is unparalleled at the high school level.
